Common Questions
What should I expect when beginning therapy?
Before your first session, you will complete some initial paperwork covering personal information, payment, and important clinic policies. During your first appointment, Lindsey will guide you through a conversation about your background, the concerns bringing you to therapy, and your goals for treatment. This is also a great opportunity to ask questions and share what you need to feel comfortable and supported throughout the process.
Some people experience a sense of relief after their first session, especially when they feel heard, understood, and hopeful about the possibility of change. For others, progress may take more time, and that’s completely normal. Healing is a journey, and taking this first step is an important part of your growth and well-being.
How long are therapy sessions?
The duration of therapy sessions may vary based on individual needs, typically lasting between 45 to 60 minutes.
What issues can therapy address?
Therapy can address a wide range of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship conflicts, substance use and personal growth challenges.
How long will I be in therapy?
The length of therapy varies from person to person and depends on several factors, including your goals, the work you do between sessions, and life stressors that may arise along the way. Financial considerations and insurance coverage can also influence the length of treatment. Lindsey will work with you to make therapy as accessible and manageable as possible.
Some people benefit from short-term therapy focused on a specific concern, while others choose to continue therapy longer-term for ongoing support, personal growth, and continued well-being. Together, Lindsey will work with you toward an approach that best fits your needs and goals.
